Atio’s uncle to Aegis Juris fratmen: He would’ve made your fraternity great

"Can you imagine if you did not kill him? He would have made your fraternity great."

This was the message of Dr. Gerry Castillo, the grieving uncle of hazing victim Horacio "Atio" Castillo, for the members of the Aegis Juris fraternity, the group blamed on the law student's death.

"You've lost a great boy. You've lost a great member. You've lost a great neophyte," Gerry said in a 24 Oras report by Susan Enriquez on Wednesday.

"This is the end of your fraternity," Gerry added.

Atio was laid to rest at the Manila Memorial Park this afternoon. Before the burial, a mass was held and attended by Atio's loved ones at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish.

Members of the Violence Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) also went to the burial to pay their last respects for Atio and to seek justice for his untimely demise.

Atio died after attending the "welcoming rites" of the Aegis Juris fraternity on September 17.

The Senate on Monday started the hearing on his death where senators grilled principal suspect John Paul Solano for information regarding Aegis Juris members who were present during the hazing rites. —NB, GMA News
