Security guard says he could identify Aegis fratmen from ‘crime scene’ library
A security guard posted near the Aegis Juris Fraternity resource center said that he could identify several fraternity members who emerged from the library on the day law student Horacio Castillo III died supposedly from hazing.
According to Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras", the security guard's testimony would be among those that the Manila Police District would use to strengthen its evidence against Aegis Juris members facing murder, robbery and violation of the Anti-Hazing Law complaints in connection with Castillo's death.
The fraternity library is allegedly the crime scene, the venue of the violent initiation rites that supposedly killed Castillo.
"May napansin po akong apat na kabataang lalaking naglalakad galing sa tapat ng establisyimento kung saan matatagpuan ang Aegis Juris Foundation..." the security guard said in his affidavit.
He said that he would be able identify the frat men if he could again see them.
Castillo was laid to rest last week at the Manila Memorial Park after he died from a massive heart attack due to injuries sustained during hazing.
