Trangia, suspect in Atio Castillo fatal hazing, due in PHL Tuesday
Ralph Trangia, one of the suspects in the hazing death of freshman law student Horacio Castillo III, is set to return to the country from the United States on Tuesday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said Monday night.
Aguirre said Trangia was already en route to Taipei, where he will be taking Eva Air flight BR 271 bound for Manila on Tuesday morning.
Trangia is expected to arrive in Manila at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.
“That’s the information we got from our Bureau of Immigration. We will secure him when he arrives,” Aguirre told GMA News Online.
Trangia’s lawyer, Rowell Ilagan, could not be immediately reached for comment.
Trangia and his mother, Rosemarie, left for Chicago on September 19, a day before Aguirre placed him and several others on the immigration lookout bulletin.
The mother and son are among the 18 individuals charged by the Manila Police District for the death of Castillo, who apparently succumbed to brutal initiation rites conducted by the University of Santo Tomas-based Aegis Juris fraternity on September 17. —NB, GMA News
