Transport officials conduct another dry run for ASEAN Summit

Transport officials on Sunday conducted another dry run in preparation for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in November.

According to a report by Katrina Son on GMA News' "Balitanghali" on Sunday, while the dry run was successful, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) officials are now looking at easing the traffic congestion on EDSA during the Summit on November 10 to 14.

"So far, okay naman kaya lang napapansin namin sa EDSA, maraming mga sasakyan pa ring inaabutan," MMDA Special Operations Officer Manny Miro said in the report.

The dry run was conducted 6:00 a.m., with a convoy traveling from Clark International Airport to the Philippine International Convention Center, and to the Esplanade in Pasay City. The convoy passed EDSA and Bonifacio Global City before making its way to Pasay City.

"Tinitimbang din namin dito 'yung mga iwas abala sa mga motorista eh, pero kanina hindi masyadong clear 'yung EDSA during the dry run," Miro said. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
