Cops frisk Baron Geisler in jail after receiving info he has drugs
Policemen frisked actor Baron Geisler at the Quezon City Police District Station 10 early Thursday after receiving information that he has illegal drugs in his possession.
According to a report on Unang Balita by Jay Sabale, the cops woke up Geisler at past 3 a.m. to conduct the search.
Geisler, who has been in detention for the past three days for causing trouble at a restobar in Quezon City on Monday, at first thought he will be set free.
Policemen asked Geisler to stand then they frisked him and asked him to empty his pockets.
After the search, police said the actor had no illegal drugs in his possession.
"May natanggap po kasi kaming report na allegedly may hawak na shabu itong si Baron kung kaya't agad-agad namin siyang kinapkapan," Police Officer 2 Bryan Busto said.
Geisler refused to be interviewed but stressed that he does not have illegal drugs in his possession. He added he is willing to undergo a drug test.
Busto said the detention area is strictly monitored, and a jailer checks all visitors, including the food and water being brought to detainees.
"May jailer kami kung saan lahat ng mga dumadalaw chine-check muna, pati lahat ng mga inaabot nila, chine-check bago iabot sa mga preso," he said.
Geisler's family is hoping the actor will be set free on Thursday.
On Wednesday, his brother said they have not yet been informed how much the bail will be.
He added they are also waiting for some documents from Pampanga. —KG, GMA News
