Tobacco-filled rambutan, tattoo machine seized in Laguna jail raid

Various contraband were confiscated in separate raids conducted at jail facilities in Makati and Laguna, as part of the government's "Greyhound Operation."

A 24 Oras report on Saturday said that at the Sta. Cruz, Laguna District Jail, authorities seized a tattoo machine and an improvised ice pick after hours of scouring the facility.

Also discovered were tobacco leaves stuffed inside rambutans.

Over at the Makati City Jail, members of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency inspected 11 dormitories for two hours.

Authorities ended up discovering illegal items like ballpens, lighters, nylon cord and wire, parts of an electric fan, thumb tacks, and playing cards, among others.

No illegal drugs were found, the report added. — MDM, GMA News
