PNP-HPG signs agreement with CCW for traffic management and road safety assistance

The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group and Citizens Crime Watch Association signed a memorandum of agreement Monday for the deployment of CCW riders to help in traffic management and road safety operations.

Under the agreement, CCW riders will serve as force multipliers with the National Capital Region as pilot area.

CCW shall issue identification cards to its members which will be used during their performance of function. The ID will be revoked if it is used in any illegal or unauthorized purpose.

The CCW riders shall exercise the authority given to them voluntarily, the MOA stated.

The CCW riders force multiplier operatives should submit to the HPG the list of its members, including contact numbers, and areas of operation.

The HPG, for its part, shall provide open communication lines to CCW volunteer riders for emergency cases.

It shall also determine in whatever capacity can they support the CCW volunteers assigned in specific area particularly when assisting traffic and road safety operations. — Amita Legaspi/RSJ, GMA News
