Police arrest 3 suspects in killing of teenager in Makati
Three suspects in the killing of a teenager in Makati were arrested over the weekend after being involved in another shooting incident.
Senior Superintendent Gerardo Umayao identified the suspects as Jr Talangan Cocjin alias Nonoy Pating, 21, of Magnolia Street, Rizal, Makati City, alleged gunman; John Patrick Baterna Orias, 20, of Pascua Street, Rizal, Makati City; and Jonathan Lelis, 24, of Rizal, Makati City.
They were allegedly involved in a shooting incident on November 14 that resulted in the death of Maynard Allan Manalo, 17, of Upper Azucena Street, Pembo, Makati City.
Manalo was sitting with his girlfriend and a friend at Hagdang Bato in Upper Azucena street when three masked men shot him at close range. He died of a gunshot to the head.
Makati Mayor Abby Binay earlier offered P100,000 for information leading to the capture of the killers.
Cocjin and Orias were nabbed around 5 a.m. on Saturday on the corner of Amarillo and South Sea Streets in Rizal, Makati City after being involved in the shooting of Bias Fabros Olores, a former police officer, and Micaela Orgue, 17, on Friday night. Olores was hit in his right foot and Orgue was shot in her left palm.
Recovered from Cocjin were one .45 pistol and one magazine loaded with four rounds of live ammunition.
Lelis was arrested 1 a.m., Monday. Seized from him was the motorcycle they used in the previous incident. — BM, GMA News
