EDSA-Shaw tunnel closed off due to five-vehicle smash-up

Heavy traffic on EDSA got even heavier on Thursday afternoon when five vehicles figured in a collision on the northbound lane.

In an advisory on its Twitter account, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that two sports utility vehicles, a pick-up and two sedans figured in the accident around 1:46 p.m.

MMDA enforcers had totally closed down the affected lane and reminded motorists to expect heavy traffic in the said area.

Vic Felizardo of MMDA Metrobase said three persons injured in the accident were brought to The Medical City along Ortigas Avenue.

All lanes were passable as of 3:20 p.m. after the vehicles were cleared, Felizardo added.
