NCRPO chief gives Parañaque police chief 2 days to solve ‘gotohan’ robbery
National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Oscar Albayalde said Friday he has given the Parañaque City chief of police two days to resolve the recent robbery incident at a gotohan in the city.
Albayalde said the police should put full effort on the incident because it involved armed suspects even though the amount taken from the eatery was not that big.
“Sa nangyari sa Paranaque sa maliit na gotohan, although maliit lang ang nakuha still it’s a robbery. Apat ang nakita natin na armado, hindi ordinary na grupo ito dahil lahat sila ay armado,” he said.
“‘Yan ay pinapa-follow up natin. I’ve given the chief of police two days to resolve the case, if not bahala na siya kasi hindi natin pwedeng sabihin na maliit lang ito,” he added.
Albayalde said the police community precinct commander in the area has already been relieved.
The incident happened early morning Thursday and around P15,000 worth of cash and items, including the P6,0000 earnings of the eatery, were carted away.
The NCRPO chief also expressed alarm that the suspects tried to hurt a minor who was one of the customers of the eatery when the incident happened.
“Merong bata na muntik nilang saktan. Of course pag may bata na ganyan, parang dadalhin ng bata ‘yan, matatakot na, malaking epekto sa bata ‘yan, ‘yung makakita na tao na armado at nagnanakaw doon, nakahelmet silang lahat,” he said.
He said they are looking into the possibility of the link between the Parañaque robbery and that of the Manor Hotel robbery in Pasay City.
“Hindi ordinary na robbery ito, kailangang matigil o makuha ang grupo na ito. ‘Yun ang tinitignan natin kung isang grupo ‘yan doon sa nangyari sa Manor at d’yan sa Paranaque,” he said.
“Merong grupo na pinababantayan, south part of Cavite. Tinitignan natin kung mag positive ang operation natin,” he added. — Amita Legaspi/RSJ, GMA News
