Fire at Metro Ayala mall in Cebu City still rages


The fire at the Gaisano Metro Ayala Mall in Cebu City has yet to be put out by firefighters on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Ramon Molina told GMA News Online that as of 3:30 p.m., the fire still rages at the department store areas of the mall's second, third, fourth and fifth floors.

As of this posting, the fire at the mall was still at Task Force Bravo, which was declared as early as 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

Molina also said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire.

He said tenants or shops at the mall were not affected by the fire, which broke out at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Ayala Center Cebu said in its Facebook account that the mall will be closed today due to the fire.

No one was hurt in the fire. —ALG, GMA News
