32,000 households in QC to face water service interruption

More than 32,000 households in Quezon City will face an eight-hour water service interruption starting Wednesday, as the Manila Water Company Inc. undertakes pressure tests.

In an advisory on Tuesday, Manila Water said that the pressure tests will be conducted on the 600 millimeter mainline along Luzon Avenue at Barangay Old Balara as part of its preparation for a "major activity" for the Luzon Reservoir in early February.

The following portions of these barangays will experience service interruption at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24 until 6 a.m. on Thursday, January 25:

  • Old Balara (Along Luzon Avenue, Puregold up to North Susana and Commonwealth Avenue, New Intramuros Village, Village Beatriz, Laura and North Zuzuaregui);
  • Pasong Tamo (Freedom, Major Marcos, Diego Silang, Mac Arthur; Pingkian 1, 2, and 3, Centerville, Femdale, Ramax, Doña Petrona);
  • Culiat (Luzon Avenue Market side);
  • Sauyo (Along Sauyo road, Sunog Baga, Camella Homes, and Saturnina Compound); and
  • Holy Spirit (Luzon Avenue, Samat and Bataan Streets and Mapayapa Village 1 and 3)

Affected residents are advised to "store enough water to supply their need during the interruption period." — MDM, GMA News
