Before UV Express, robbers in dash cam video also held up jeepney in Manila
It was not the first time that the three men caught in a dash cam video robbing a UV express van held up commuters in Manila.
In a 24 Oras report by Cesar Apolinario on Monday, a student who refused to be identified detailed how the suspects robbed the jeep she rode last January 19. She said the incident happened along Claro M. Recto Avenue past 1 p.m.
"Sumakay 'yung dalawa as pasahero. Nang mapuno na 'yung jeep umalis na at 'yung dalawang motor nakasubaybay sa jeep. Mga ilang km lang ang layo, 'yung isa sa kanila sumabit na sabay nagdeklara ng hold-up sila," the victim said in a Facebook message.
The victim identified the robbers after seeing the dash cam video. She even said one of them was wearing the same shirt and cap on the separate robbery incidents.
The Manila Police District vowed to conduct investigation on the robbery incidents.
Police are checking CCTV cameras around the city to trace the suspects.
"Iniimbestigahan din 'yan. Mas makakatulong 'yan, malaking breakthrough 'yan," MPD spokesperson Police Superintendent Erwin Margarejo said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/JST, GMA News
