800 MRT3 passengers unloaded at Ortigas as train suffers electrical failure

At least 800 passengers were unloaded on Tuesday morning at Ortigas Station after a southbound train suffered another technical problem

In an advisory, MRT3 management said an electrical failure on the train's motor prompted the unloading incident which occurred at 8:21 a.m.

It took eight minutes before affected passengers were able to board the next train.

MRT3 said one cause of electrical failure is due to "worn-out electrical sub-components (e.g. insulator, regulator, main chopper)."

There were 10 trains running as of 8 a.m. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KG, GMA News
