4th suspect in Cainta deputy police chief’s killing arrested

Authorities on Monday arrested a suspect in the killing of a deputy police chief in Cainta, Rizal last week.

Police identified the suspect as Ruben Gomez alias Ruben Tae, 41.

Gomez was arrested by members of the Taguig City Police Community Precinct 4 at the Signal village in Bicutan at around 5:20 a.m..

The policemen were responding to a concerned citizen's call about a commotion among residents in the area, which was supposedly started by Gomez.

Police seized a 28-inch knife from the suspect.

Last week, the local government of Cainta offered a P100,000 reward for Gomez's arrest for his alleged involvement in the killing of Senior Inspector Jimmy Senosin, deputy chief of the Cainta Police Station.

Senosin was killed in a shootout with armed men in Cainta town last February 11.

Two other suspects in Senosin's killing have also been arrested. They were Ronaldo Idolog, 44, and Jophine Lachica, 29.

Another suspect, identified as Hermogenes Lachica alias Ekis, 51, surrendered to the police last Friday. —ALG, GMA News
