Some Makati roads closed on Sunday for Caracol Festival

Makati City officials on Friday advised motorists that roadways leading to Globe Circuit Makati will temporarily be closed on Sunday, February 25, for the 2018 Caracol Festival.

According to an advisory from Makati City Information and Community Relations Department (ICRD) OIC Romulo SJ Salgado Jr., vehicles will not be able to enter the following roads and streets on Sunday from 1 p.m. onward:

  • Hipodromo Street (from Taliba Street to AP Reyes Street)
  • AP Reyes Street - East Bound (from JP Rizal Street to Pascua Street)
  • All streets from JP Rizal to Hipodromo heading to Globe Circuit Makati
  • The ICRD said the roads will be used as assembly areas for festival participants.

Meanwhile, participants and guests in the festival can use the parking space of Globe Circuit Makati.

Makati celebrates its annual Caracol Festival with street dances and merrymaking.

Rerouting

Salgado advised those who will be heading for Manila to take JP Rizal and go straight past AP Reyes instead of turning right.

He added that the remaining portion of AP Reyes Street will be operating two-way traffic to give way to motorists.

Meanwhile, passenger jeepneys who will take the Mantrade-Libertad-PRC route coming from Pasong Tamo Extension were instructed to turn left to JP Rizal then left to Pasong Tirad toward their destination. —Margaret Claire Layug/KBK, GMA News
