Pasig cops kill 2 drug suspects

Police killed two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City at past midnight Wednesday.

Senior Superintendent Orlando Yebra, chief of the Pasig City Police, identified one of the slain suspects as Kimron Fontejon of Barangay Manggahan.

Yebra said Fontejon pulled out his gun and fired after sensing that he was dealing with a policeman.

Policemen retaliated and killed Fontejon and his companion, who has yet to be identified by the authorities.

A resident said they heard gunshots coming from two directions, which indicates there was indeed an armed encounter between policemen and the two suspects.

Police said 10 sachets of shabu and two firearms were recovered from the suspects. —report from Victoria Tulad/ALG, GMA News
