Buko vendor vows to pursue raps vs. MMDA men despite his arrest for murder

The buko vendor who was caught on video being mauled by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel has said that he would still pursue his complaints against the three enforcers despite being arrested for murder.

Romnick Relos was arrested on Tuesday afternoon along with his two brothers identified as Dondon and Roy over the killing of Junie Olete on March 25, 2007 in Aroroy, Masbate.

The three suspects had forcibly entered the house of Olete and hacked the victim.

Romnick said that he had no regrets appearing on television reports, saying that the murder case was different and separate from his complaint against the three MMDA personnel.

Asked what would be his message for the MMDA, Romnick said: "Masaya talaga sila ngayon kasi nabaligtad 'yung pangyayari pero itutuloy ko pa rin 'yung kaso kahit ako 'yung nahuli."

Meanwhile, he had admitted that he took part in the killing of Olete but did not divulge on what was his role specifically.

"Pare-parehas kami ng kasalanan," Romnick said.

Romnick had suffered a contusion in his right eye due to the beating he received from the members of the MMDA sidewalk clearing operations team who have already been placed under preventive suspension. —NB, GMA News
