LRT2, MRT3 offer free rides for women

In connection with the celebration of International Women's Day, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that free rides are available for female commuters.

The management of the Light Railway Transit Line 2 (LRT2) and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3) has announced that the free rides can be availed on Thursday during peak hours: from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again in the afternoon from 5 p.m. up to 7 p.m.

The celebration of International Women's Day is held every year on March 8, which is a commemoration of women's rights.

The commemoration is also a day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and the promotion of gender equality. —BAP/KG, GMA News
