Bautista orders closure of Dimple Star bus terminal in QC
The Quezon City local government will close Dimple Star Transport's terminals in Quezon City following the crash in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro last week that left 19 people dead.
The city government said Mayor Herbert Bautista will personally serve the closure order on the bus company on Monday.
Carol Claudio, media officer of the Quezon City Public Affairs Department, said Bautista will also inspect other bus terminals in Cubao.
"He will inspect din po 'yung ibang mga bus terminal sa Cubao area po kung nagcomply sa permits and other regulations po," Claudio said in a text message.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) suspended the entire fleet of Dimple Star Transport after one of tis buses fell off a cliff in Barangay Batong Buhay last week.
Following President Rodrigo Duterte's threat of arrest, Dimple Star owner Hilber Napat presented himself to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at Camp Crame on Friday night.
The Mimaropa Police Regional Office had also seized and impounded 44 Dimple Star buses in Occidental and Oriental Mindoro on Friday.
The LTFRB, meanwhile, has scheduled a hearing on the accident on April 18. —ALG, GMA News
