NCRPO launches ‘first of its kind’ hotline system to address reports of police abuses, crime

The National Capital Region Police Office on Friday launched its "first of its kind" hotline system accessible through various mobile instant messaging applications to assist the public in their complaints on erring policemen and crime reports.

NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said Metro Manila residents can "file complaints, submit secret information and just simply get in touch with the Team NCRPO" not only through text messaging but also via various platforms which include Viber, WhatsApp, Telegram, Line, and WeChat.

Globe and Smart users can send their complaints or reports at 0915-888-8181 and 0999-901-8181, respectively. The public can also reach the NCRPO through their email addresses, ncrporeact@gmail.com or Sms1.ncrpo@gmail.com, or through Facebook @NCRPOreact.

Eleazar said the incidents that will be reported to the NCRPO could be monitored in their Compliance Monitoring System which will also transmit the said report to concerned district and police station.

Aside from this, a mobile application called as "i-Send Mo" will also be launched by the NCRPO.

Eleazar said the public can easily call to different NCRPO hotlines using the application. Crime and drug prevention tips will also be included as well as reporting of crimes of police abuses. — RSJ, GMA News
