Fire hits warehouse in Makati

A warehouse in Barangay Olympia, Makati City was hit by fire past 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to a a report on Super Radyo dzBB.

The warehouse is used by the local government of Makati City.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) tweeted that the fire has reached the second alarm as of 2:48 a.m.

The fire quickly spread in the two-storey warehouse due to combustible materials stored therein including old chairs, tables, and other items made of wood and plastic.

Firefighters found it difficult to extinguish the fire.

Residents in the area were not affected due to the compound's sizable yard.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the cost of the damage to property. —Maia Tria/KG, GMA News
