In a post on its Twitter account, DOTr MRT-3, the problem occurred at 9:45 p.m. and that around 1,200 passengers were unloaded.
By 10:25 p.m. the agency posted that a train arrived after 9 minutes.
One cause of electrical failure in motor of the stalled northbound train, the agency explained, is worn-out electrical sub-components such as main chopper, regulator, insulator.
"Preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components (must ensure availability of spare parts)," DOTr announced.
"We apologize for the inconvenience," it added. — BAP, GMA News
