Parts of Malabon still flooded due to heavy rains, high tide

Some areas in Malabon City remained flooded on Monday due to heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the high tide, according to a report on News To Go by Marisol Abdurahman.

The entire Barangay Dampalit, which includes Merville Subdivision, was flooded.

The barangay captain said 12,000 residents in the barangay were affected by the flood.

Residents use bancas and rafts to go around, while others bravely wade through floodwaters.

Some residents, however, chose to seek shelter at an evacuation center after floodwaters almost reached their necks.

Many of them said the flooding now is worse than during Typhoon Pedring in 2011.

However, in Del Rosario, some residents refused to evacuate since they said these were congested, Abdurahman reported on Balitanghali.
