Victory Liner to stop dispatching buses from Pasay terminal during rush hour

Bus operator Victory Liner Inc. (VLI) is no longer dispatching buses from its Pasay City terminal during weekday rush hour, with the provincial bus ban on EDSA now in place.

“Starting August 15, 2018, Victory Liner Pasay will not dispatch buses from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays,” the company said in an emailed advisory on Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) banned provincial buses from traversing the EDSA section that stretches from Cubao in Quezon City to Pasay City.

“We advise our loyal daily Victory Liner customers from Northern Luzon to take our Cubao, Caloocan or Sampaloc route buses instead,” VLI said.

“From our Cubao bus terminal, commuters will have to ride other buses going to Makati City,” it said.

VLI also said it will adjust its trip schedules to comply with the MMDA order.

“Victory Liner will also adjust its trip schedules bound for Pasay City coming from Northern Luzon to ensure that no Victory Liner bus will be in EDSA during these ... hours,” it said.

The ban is supposed to ease traffic congestion due to road repairs such as the drainage enhancement of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and the construction of the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT7) on Commonwealth Avenue. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS, GMA News
