Arnold Padilla detained in Camp Bagong Diwa

Businessman Arnold Padilla, who was arrested due to firearms and a grenade found in his home, has been transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa detention center in Taguig City.

In a report by James Agustin on Unang Balita on Tuesday, Padilla was shown being transferred by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) convoy from Philippine National Police General Hospital in Camp Crame, Quezon City to Taguig around 12 midnight. Padilla was confined at the PNP General Hospital due to high blood pressure.

He was accompanied by his four lawyers.

From the PNP General Hospital, Padilla was sent to the investigation room before his camp again requested for a nurse due to increased blood pressure.

Prior to his transfer, the PNP hospital already gave Padilla a clean bill of health and gave him medicine.

The NCRPO, however, later discovered that Padilla did not take his medicine given by the PNP hospital and instead put it on his chest.

Padilla's counsels, however, are still insisting that he cannot be transferred in a detention facility because of his obsessive compulsive disorder.

Padilla first grabbed headlines for allegedly committing physical and verbal abuse against traffic enforcers due to a traffic violation. —Llanesca T. Panti/KG, GMA News
