PDEA-NCR intercepts ‘shabu sale’ in Pasay buy-bust ops

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized 500 grams of shabu with a 'marked down' price of P700,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 128, Pasay City on Monday.

Athena Imperial reported on GMA's Saksi that the suspected shabu appears to be on sale as its street value was previously pegged at P3.5 million.

"During the conduct of the operation the cost was actually P700,000. So there's an indication that a little bit bumaba po 'yung price ng shabu in the street level," PDEA-NCR Regional Director Joel Plaza said.

Authorities arrested the suspects: John Michael Laureta, Mark Xander Laureta, Bryan Balboa, and Aldrin Guerrero.

PDEA added that the suspects are notorious Metro Manila drug personalities with connections to suppliers of illegal drugs in jail facilities.

The suspects, however, denied the allegation that they are drug pushers and maintained that they were only following instructions in handing over the shabu.
