Bomb threat via text message rattles Pasig school
A school in Pasig City on Friday morning received a bomb threat via a text message, the Philippine National Police said.
The Reedley International School received the message at about 8:52 a.m. that read, "YOUR SCHOOL IS GOING TO DOWN IN A FEW HOURS. AN EXPLOSIVE WAS SNEAKED INSIDE YOUR BUILDING EARLY THIS MORNING AT AROUND 6:45AM - 7:00 AM VIA STUDENTS BAG," according to the police.
Jerome Castro, Head Master of the Reedley International School, said he notified authorities after learning about the message.
Police personnel from the police community precinct 10 arrived at the school at 9:25 a.m. to conduct their validation and coordination with the school.
Shortly after, at about 9:50 a.m., the Special Weapons and Tactics team of the Pasig police also arrived at the area to conduct a paneling. A K-9 unit of the Pasig City government was also brought in.
The police report did not indicate if the school suspended classes. — Jamil Santos/MDM, GMA News
