i-ACT launches ‘anti-isnabero’ operation vs. picky taxi drivers
The Inter-Agency Council for Traffic or i-ACT has launched an operation that will prevent taxi drivers from snubbing passengers, according to a report by Bernadette Reyes on Balitanghali on Monday.
Under the plan, picky taxi drivers can be apprehended and fined for denying passengers a ride.
Taxis that are marked with the phrases "to any point of Metro Manila" or "to any point in Luzon" must be able to fulfill these declarations, the report said.
Drivers who will deny passengers can be apprehended and fined. Multiple violations can lead to cancellation of the taxi's license and franchise, the report said.
Aside from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), member-agencies of the i-ACT include the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB), the Philippine National Police – Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO). — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA News
