Heavy traffic in Baclaran as four lanes are occupied by vendors

Four lanes were already occupied along service road in Baclaran, Parañaque City, due to the vendors selling items for the holiday season.

According to an Unang Balita report by Darlene Cay on Wednesday, heavy traffic was experienced in the area because of the huge number of vendors as well as motorists who have flocked the Baclaran church.

Personnel from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have put barriers along the service road.

Clearing operation is expected, the report said.

MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said the agency would look into the traffic situation in the area.

"'Yung pagtitinda naman nila sa Baclaran, nagtitinda na sila diyan eh 'no? Pero kung nakaka-obstruct po sila at sumasakop ng mahigit sa apat na lanes, 'yun ho ang di pinapayagan ng MMDA," Pialago said in a separate Unang Balita report.

"Let me just check kung ano 'yung naging desisyon diyan ng local government pero babalikan po natin 'yan. 'Yan po talaga 'yung sakit ng mga lugar na nililinis na natin," she added. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
