Cops play Santa to 200 kids in Manila
National Police chief Director General Oscar Albyalade led police officials in gathering several kids in Manila to give them Christmas gifts, GMA News' Mariz Umali reported on Balitanghali Monday.
Albayalde, along with other PNP officials, gathered the kids at a covered court in Quirino Avenue and gave them candies, ham, fruits, meal and money, the report said.
Albayalde said he has been doing this every year since he became a regional director.
The PNP chief also advised the children to stay away from using ‘solvent’ and doing bad things. He also told the kids to help their parents, and most importantly, to love God.
He also said that he gave a directive to other PNP director generals to emulate the mobile library project of the Manila Police Distric (MPD).
According to Albayalde, the crime rate in Manila dropped by 15 percent which he attributed to the launch of the mobile library. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
