Pious, patient devotees attend overnight vigil for Black Nazarene

People came from all walks of life to spend the night at the grounds in front of the Quirino Grandstand to pray and keep vigil with the miraculous image of the Black Nazarene.

This show of devotion reflects the words of Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle mentioned in his homily during the High Mass, that "A real devotee loves. The essence of devotion is love."

Groups set up tents, spread blankets on the grass, while some set up stalls along the road to sell Nazareno merchandise as prayers and songs filled the evening air to prepare for the annual Traslacion or the transfer of the Black Nazarene back to his "home," the Quiapo Church. — BAP, GMA News
