Cops chase robbers over rooftops in Quezon City

Four alleged burglars, including two minors, were apprehended on Wednesday morning after leading police officers in a wild chase over the rooftops of several houses in a subdivision in Quezon City.
Police Superintendent Rossel Cejas, commander of QCPD Station 4, said homeowners of the subdivision tipped the police about suspicious activities inside one of the houses.
The burglars, who allegedly broke into a house, managed to steal some items and then entered another house.
Upon arrival, the police checked and immediately cordoned the area.
While police were searching the area, they spotted two suspicious men who fit the description provided by their tipster.
The police arrested two suspects, who appeared to be 16 and 17 years old respectively.
Before the break of dawn, while authorities were interviewing the juvenile offenders, they received another tip. This time from the owner of the house that was earlier reported to have been robbed.
At the scene, the police saw the duo escaping out of the second floor of the house.
As daylight broke, the third suspect surrendered to the police. He was later identified as 19-year-old Jeric Rolloque, who was carrying a box with a rice cooker when police handcuffed him.
The fourth suspect, 20-year-old Armand Reponte on the other hand evaded arrest. He fled by foot and broke into several houses that led police on a complex cat and mouse chase across the rooftops.
Police Chief Inspector Marlo V. Barruga, Deputy Station Commander of QCPD Station 4, said the suspect got tired by the time he surrendered.
"Napagod talaga dahil maraming inakyat na bubong. Nalaman din natin sa imbestigasyon na itong ikatlo at panghuling suspek ay may mga kaso na rin ng panloloob sa mga bahay rito sa Novaliches. Talagang sakit sila sa ulo ng mga residente rito."
Both Reponte and Rolloque are now facing charges of robbery while the two juvenile suspects will be brought to the DSWD center. — BAP, GMA News
