Two suspects nabbed in QC drug buy-bust
Two elusive drug peddlers led police on a chase through dilapidated houses and shanties in a compound in Barangay Tandang Sora in Quezon City during a buy-bust sting on Thursday afternoon.
Operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Quezon City Police District Station 4 led by Police Senior Inspector Dennis Francisco have executed a plan prior to the operation and have assigned officers to conduct a stakeout in key areas of the compound.
Shortly after the illegal sale of drugs was done, a loud thud and scream were heard from inside the house of the target suspects.
The two suspects identified as Jonathan Layugan, 26, and Joseph Anastacio, 28, evaded arrest.
A physical confrontation between the two suspects and the police who acted as a buyer ensued.
Minutes later, Layugan who tried to escape from police by ascending to the second floor finally used the back window to get out of the house.
Anastacio, on the other hand, immediately hid in the ground floor. He was later apprehended by the cop who chased him inside the comfort room.
Elusive Layugan jumped from roof to roof but he was later cornered by the cop.
The police pursuit ended when Layugan jumped from the roof and fell flat on the ground. He sustained a head injury and was still bleeding when police arrested him.

Recovered from the suspects were eight sachets of shabu estimated to have a total weight of two grams worth P13,600.
A drug test conducted by the Philippine National Police crime laboratory confirmed that the drugs were shabu.
During the inventory of seized evidence, Layugan's elder sister, Star Grace, 33, tried to prevent the arrest.
She later had difficulty breathing and eventually collapsed when cops started to arrest her.
Police Superintendent Rossel Cejas said Layugan's sister has the right to question the validity of her brother's arrest as well as the buy-bust operation that was conducted by his men earlier.
"All the important requirements were met to run the buy-bust operation, all documents were signed by agencies as well. Everything is legal," he added.
Aside from resisting arrest, both Layugan and Anastacio will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
On the hand, obstruction charges will be filed against Star Grace for allegedly trying to prevent the arrest. —KG, GMA News
