QC narcs arrest 5 newly identified drug suspects
Five newly identified drug suspects in Barangay Santa Monica in Novaliches, Quezon City were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Quezon City Police District Station 4 on Wedenesday night.
The Station's Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Branch Chief Police Captain Dennis Francisco said that prior to the buy-bust sting, they had been receiving tips from neighbors of a ceratin alias "Jog" who had allegedly been peddling drugs to his clients inside his house in Arguaduente.
There were also tips from some concerned citizens that the target suspect offers his house to clients who want to sniff shabu there.
"Simula kasi noong magsunud-sunod sng infotext at SMS sanlugsr nga ay agad nag-validate. Kami ng info sa kanya. Yun nga nalaman namin na pa-runner-runner lang siya dati pero ngayon eh humahawak na rin sila," Francisco said.
At past 6 p.m., the raiding team, headed by Police Master Sargent Gilbert Galguerra positioned themselves at the vicinity of the suspect's house.
An asset together with a patrolman who posed as a buyer had successfully transacted P200 worth of shabu with the target suspect.
Fifty-two-year-old Reynaldo Sangoyo alias "Jog" did not resist when he was apprehended by authorities.
Also nabbed inside the house were 38-year-old July Diamante alias "Kambal", 21-year-old Jhunielyn Galladan alias "Nano", and 31-year-old Carlo Camill, who are all neighbors of Sangoyo.
Eighteen-year-old Joaquin Verde alias "Keypoy", who came all the way from Barangay Tandang Sora also in Quezon City was also arrested.
Recovered from Sangoyo and 4 other suspects were 5 heat-sealed sachets of shabu worth P6,800, a piece of unsealed sachet and a foil which both have traces of shabu, and some shabu paraphernalia.
The buy-bust money however was not recovered.
Sangoyo denied his involvement in peddling drugs but he admitted to using it once in while.
The four other suspects on the other hand denied their involvement in drugs.
Investigation showed that all five suspects were not included in the drug-watchlist of both Barangay Santa Monica and the Novaliches Police Station.
The station's commander, Police Lieutenant Colonel Rossel Cejas, said that aside from Sangoyo, whom they consider a newbie in the illegal drug trade, the four other suspects are apparently first timers.
Cejas commended the neighbors who tipped them about the newly found drug den in their barangay.
"Iniperate ng SDEU natin ito halos lahat dito nabuking na gumagamit, maging yung bahay ay ginagawang drug den. Yun ang lumalabas doon bumibili sila ng droga sa bahay at roon na rin gumagamit ng droga," Cejas said.
All five suspects are now detained at the Novaliches Police Station and they are all facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — DVM, GMA News
