Mayor wants to repeal ordinance vs. short shorts in Caloocan’s public places


Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan on Wednesday said that he wanted to repeal the ordinance banning "short" shorts in public places, which the city council enacted in 2007.

Section 5 of the Ordinance No. 0439 or the Caloocan City Dress Code in Public Places banned trousers that covered less than one-fourth of the lower torso and legs.

"For me, I really want the ordinance to be repealed as I stand for equal rights to freedom and I believe that all women should be respected no matter what they wear," Malapitan said on his official Facebook page.
