At the Araneta Center Bus Station and the Araneta Center Bus Port, buses were already almost fully booked as of Friday.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday said it will closely watch the situation at bus terminals on EDSA in light of the expected exodus of commuters for the Holy Week.
National Capital Region Police Office chief Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar earlier said Metro Manila cops will be on full alert during Holy Week.
The police official said they are expecting that bus terminals and other transportation hubs will be crowded as people head to the provinces for the Holy Week.
"Inaasahan natin na itong pagdagsa sa mga probinsiya, mapupuno ang mga places of convergence, in particular ang mga transportation terminal, itong mga bus stations, LRT and MRT stations, train stations, airports and seaports," Eleazar said.
The Holy Week will start on Sunday, April 14, Palm Sunday.
Filipinos traditionally head to their home provinces for the Holy Week to spend time with their loved ones.
