Thousands join Takbo Para sa Kalikasan for Manila Bay rehab
Thousands of runners joined the early morning fun run on Sunday dubbed "Takbo Para sa Kalikasan" at the Rizal Park in Manila organized for the rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
The fun run started at 4 a.m. at Burnham Green of Quirino Grandstand, according to a report on Super Radyo dzBB by Mao dela Cruz.

Personnel from the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and private companies participated in the fun run.
The activity was organized by the DILG in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to call attention to the need for support for the rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
According to DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, the fun run also calls for rehabilitation of coastal areas and preservation of Philippine Clean Water and other natural resources.
The southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to Quirino Avenue was closed to traffic for the event. —KG, GMA News
