Only 6 markers given per room catering to 800 voters each at QC school
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) only gave six markers for each classroom at the President Corazon C. Aquino Elementary School and yet each classroom is meant to cater to over 800 to 1,000 registered voters, said Leonora Jusay, the school's overall Department of Education supervising official.
Jusay, in an interview on Monday on Election Day itself, said the Comelec may have overlooked factoring in the population in apportioning the supplies needed.
What poses a problem is that the number of voters allowed to vote at any one time is based on the number of markers available.
"Ang pagpasok ng botante sa room ng teachers ay base sa markers ng Comelec. Siyempre susunod ang teacher sa Comelec," she said.
The school is considered to be the second biggest polling place in Quezon City with around 44,000 registered voters.
