Octogenarian becomes first-time voter in Taguig
An octogenarian in Taguig City eagerly cast his vote for the first time on Monday.
According to a report by Mav Gonzales, Antonio Ramelo first tried to vote at an emergency accessible polling place, but since he can still walk, he was requested to proceed to his designated precinct at the fourth floor of the Kapitan Eddie T. Reyes Memorial Elementary School.
Ramelo earnestly took the stairs, queued, and waited patiently for his turn.
He was accompanied by his daughter at the polling precinct, who helped him vote
"Para maranasan niya magboto kasi ngayon lang siya nakarehistro, gusto niya man magboto," his daughter said.
The vote counting machine (VCM), however, malfunctioned when he was about to insert his ballot.
Eventually, the VCM was restarted and Ramelo was able to successfully cast his vote. — Dona Magsino/BM, GMA News
