Taguig City BOC suspends canvassing, 'untransmitted ERs will not affect outcome'
The Taguig City Board of Canvassers (BOC) announced that the Election Returns (ERs) the suspension of canvassing of votes, GMA News' Darlene Cay reported.
The basis of the motion of the BOC is that the election returns yet to be transmitted will no longer significantly affect the results of the mayoral, vice mayoral, and 2nd district representative race.
The Board earlier announced the suspension of canvassing while waiting for the reconfiguration of the 12 problematic SD Cards.
The Board is also waiting for the Comelec’s decision on the motion to lower the threshold for the proclamation of candidates.
As of 1:47 am, partial and unofficial votes, 94.22 percent of election returns from the polling precincts has been transmitted to the city BOC.
As of 1:19 a.m., mayoral candidate Direk Lino Cayetano has garnered 165, 760 votes over Arnel Cerafica who has 104,879, and Sonny Boy Andrade with 1,271 votes.
Vice Mayoral candidate Ricardo Cruz Jr. has 151, 545 votes over opponent Jun Dueñas who has 101,415 votes.
Former Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and his wife, incumbent Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano are leading the congressional race for the two districts of Taguig. — BAP, GMA News
