LTFRB to issue suspension order vs. bus company involved in NLEX accident

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is set to issue a preventive suspension order against Buena Sher Transport after one of its buses figured in a fatal accident along the North Luzon Expressway on Friday night.

Transportation Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran revealed that LTFRB chairperson Martin Delgra III will issue the preventive suspension order, according to a report on Dobol B sa News TV on Saturday by Allan Gatus.

At least eight people died and several were injured after a Buena Sher Transport bus traveling southbound on NLEX hit an SUV and crossed into the northbound side before turning on its side.

Passengers said the bus was traveling fast even if the road was slippery as it was raining at that time.

Under the preventive suspension order, a bus company will not be able to operate its units for 30 days.

The bus company will also be asked to explain why its franchise will not be canceled as a result of the accident. —KG, GMA News
