Manila school board memo vs. political signage
The Manila City School Board has issued a memorandum ordering all public elementary and high school heads to remove all political signage in their schools.
The memorandum was issued Tuesday after the school board met with Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, who directed schools to remove all posters and signage bearing names of politicians, including his, from their premises.
"As an outcome of the Local School Board Meeting held today, all public elementary and secondary schools are being advised to take maximum measures in removing all political endorsements, campaign posters, and signages [sic] in all education facilities such as, but not limited to covered courts, facade, school building entrance and the likes, immediately," the memorandum said.

The memorandum was signed by Jenilyn Rose Corpuz, school divisions superintendent.
Moreno said the “epal ban” also covers public hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The move earned Moreno praise from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
According to DILG Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III, Moreno's move was "something everybody should be doing."
"In fact sa sobrang galing ng kanyang ginagawa, napupunahan tuloy ang ibang mga mayor na walang ginagawa. So nahuhuli na ho natin 'yan," Densing said. —KBK, GMA News
