The C3 Road bridge going over the Navotas River will be closed to traffic starting July 20, 2019 as construction begins on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) Harbor Link Segment 10 C3 to R10 project, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Thursday.

Around 33,000 motorists will be affected by the closure, the agency said.

The project is a 2.6-kilometer elevated expressway from C3 Road in Caloocan City to Radial Road 10 in Navotas, which is set to be completed in November, according to the MMDA.

Due to this, one side of the C3 road going to Rizal Avenue will be temporarily closed until the project’s completion.

“Ang isasara lang, isang side muna. Kapag sinara yan, yung kabila magiging two-way,” MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said in a press conference.

Light vehicles are advised to take the alternate route along Dagat-Dagatan Avenue and Lapu Lapu Avenue.

Heavy vehicles are advised to still use the remaining bound of the C3 bridge with a two-way traffic route.

The project is will connect to the recently opened NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 that passes through Valenzuela City, Malabon City and Caloocan City. — BM, GMA News
