4-year-old stabbed dead, suspect killed after resisting arrest
A four-year-old boy died in Tondo, Manila after being stabbed repeatedly by his own Uncle, the brother of his father, Jonathan Andal reported on Unang Balita.
The boy sustained at least 11 stab wounds in the chest, arms and stomach. The suspect also died after allegedly resisting arrest.
At about 1 p.m. on Monday, the boy can be seen in a CCTV footage walking along a road near his home at Gate 10 Barangay 20, Zone 2 Parola compound in Tondo.
After 30 minutes, the video showed people running away from the area because a knife-wielding man who went amok.
According to a witness, the man was shouting that he should be killed because he killed someone.
The next scene showed a person carrying a child.
A relative of the victim said the man was calling the boy to send him out to buy ice cubes.
The neighbors found the child unconscious and bleeding inside the house of the suspect.
Before the incident, it was reported that the man was drinking liquor with the boy's father.
Police Major Norbert Holman, MPD Station 2 Investigation Section chief related that the man and the boy's father were seen arguing. But the suspect vented his ire on the boy.
The suspect, who is in the Drug Watchlist, was arrested and brought to the police station.
However, while the police were busy with processing the arrest the suspect asked permission to use the comfort room.
He was accompanied by a police officer then tried to grab the officer's service firearm. Then a gun shot was heard.
The suspect was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. — BAP, GMA News
