Isko shuts down Recto amusement center with illegal games, gambling

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Wednesday led a crackdown on an amusement center in Recto where illegal gaming machines were being operated.

According to Super Radyo dzBB's Luisito Santos, authorities raided an amusement center inside a shopping mall in Manila on Wednesday where prohibited machines including fruit games and video karera were discovered.

Moreno, who was present during the raid,  condemned reports of young people spending their money on games at the amusement center instead of going to school.

Moreno said he plans to issue a formal order for the closure of the gaming center, an earlier report by Isa Umali said.

The mayor also ordered authorities to confiscate the prohibited machines at the establishment. — Margaret Claire Layug/MDM, GMA News
