People ride on styrofoam raft as roads turn to pools in Metro Manila due to flood

Heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) caused flooding in some parts of Metro Manila on Saturday.

Residents did what they can to cope with the flood.

In Makati City, some people even paid P200 to P300 to get aboard a styrofoam raft that would cross Dela Rosa Street, as shared by YouScooper Luis Gene Iballo in a video.

Also in Makati, Mayapis Street seemed to have become a swimming pool due to the flood. YouScooper Marvin Tudtud took a video around 10:30 a.m.

On Chino Roces Avenue also in Makati, YouScooper Marcelino Salvacion Idanan took a video at past 10 a.m. showing how tricycles and pedicabs braved the flood.

Meanwhile, in C-5 Waterfun Bridge Underpass in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City, light vehicles made their way carefully on the flooded road, as seen in a video taken by YouScooper Christopher Rodriguez past 11 a.m.

PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Metro Manila on Saturday. —KG, GMA News
