Valenzuela clamps down on vehicles with noisy, busted mufflers
Valenzuela City is strictly enforcing an ordinance against vehicles with noisy or busted mufflers, according to Oscar Oida's report on Unang Balita on Wednesday.
Under the Muffler Regulation Ordinance No. 390, violators will be fined P300 for first offense, P500 for second offense, P1,00 for third offense, and P1,500 with impounding for the fourth offense.
"Dito sa Metro Manila, sa dami na ng ingay, sasakyan o anu-ano mang ingay, dagdag mo pa ng ingay ng muffler ng motor, eh masyadong masakit na sa tenga," said Police Colonel Lito Gaces, chief of Valenzuela Police.
Traffic enforcers will use a decibel meter reader to determine if the sound of the motorcycle's mufflers passes the regulated volume.
"Pag natiketan ka niyan kailangan ibalik mo na yung silencer ng motor mo bago mo matubos ang lisensya mo," said Police Major Roderick Juan of Valenzuela Police. —KBK, GMA News
