Passengers who spent Undas outside Manila arrive at NAIA, bus terminals


A day before the workweek starts, Filipinos who spent the All Saints Day (Undas) and All Souls Day holidays in their hometowns or out of the country began arriving at bus terminals in Metro Manila and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

In Pasay City, the arrival of buses carrying passengers on Sunday caused a slowdown in traffic as taxis and tricycles swarmed the area, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Dobol B sa News TV aired on GMA News TV.

 

 

 

 

Buses from Bicol and Visayas began arriving at Pasay bus terminals at 1 a.m., according to a report by Ralph Obina on Super Radyo dzBB.

Victory Liner said its buses from Baguio to Manila were already fully booked.

The bus terminal at Araneta Center in Cubao also had some passengers arriving on Sunday morning, according to a report by Manny Vargas on Dobol B sa News TV.

 

 

Meanwhile, the bulk of the passengers from provinces are expected to arrive in the afternoon at Florida Bus Terminal in Sampaloc, Manila, according to a report by Carlo Mateo on Dobol B sa News TV.

 

 

Passengers who went by plane to provinces or other countries also started arriving at the NAIA early Sunday, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Dobol B sa News TV.

 

 

Meanwhile, traffic on the South Luzon Expressway and the North Luzon Expressway remained light on Sunday morning. The bulk of motorists are expected to use these roads in the afternoon.

Nov. 1 (All Saints Day) and Nov. 2 (All Souls Day) were declared non-working holidays to allow Filipinos to go to their hometowns to visit the tombs of their departed loved ones. —KG, GMA News
