Police battalion pulled out from LRT, MRT stations
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday decided to pull out members of Metro Manila's Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) from stations of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT).
A report by Mark Makalalad in Dobol B sa News TV quoted National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) acting director Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas as saying that the RMFB should be inside police camps and not inside LRT1, LRT2, and MRT3 stations.
The 400 battalion members will be replaced by cops from respective district police offices that have jurisdiction over the train stations in Metro Manila.
The MRT North Avenue to Santolan stations, for example, will be manned by cops from the Quezon City Police District.
The Eastern Police District will be assigned to monitor the MRT Ortigas to Boni stations, while the Guadalupe to Buendia stations will be under the Southern Police District.
The LRT stations, sprawling across various parts of Metro Manila, will also be assigned with police officers in the same manner. — Dona Magsino/MDM, GMA News
